Alisson Becker urged Roma not to use refereeing errors or own goals as “an alibi” following their 4-1 defeat to Barcelona.

It was a very harsh result in the circumstances in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

“The referee made mistakes, so did we, but that mustn’t be an alibi,” the goalkeeper told Mediaset Premium.

“We must work harder and improve. We go forward with our heads held high, knowing we’re up against something almost impossible to overcome.

“We’ll take it one game at a time for the rest of the season, there are errors, but we must push on together to the very end.

“We’ll remain concentrated all the way, both in Europe and Serie A.”
