Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson reveals he could have joined Inter when he was 17.

The Brazilian goalkeeper played at Roma between 2016 and 2018, playing 37 Serie A games with the Giallorossi. He was the second-choice goalkeeper in his first season at the Stadio Olimpico but became a regular starter in 2017-18, after Wojciech Szczesny’s move to Juventus.

The Brazil international has revealed that he could have landed in Italy before moving to Roma in 2016.

“I was close to Inter when I was 17,” he told Sky Sport Italia after the Reds’ win against the Nerazzurri last night.

“Unofrtunately, it didn’t happen, but my path has been amazing. I have great memories of Roma. Forza Roma sempre.”

Alisson also commented on Liverpool’s win, which will allow them to qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals with a draw at Anfield Road in March.

“Inter created many chances, but we handled them. We blocked their shots and made the most of our opportunities,” he said.

“Inter played a great game, but we had the best chances. Inter are a great team and I am sure that they will play a great match at Anfield.”
