Alexis Sanchez reiterates his desire to play more regularly after a stunning strike in the Coppa Italia win over Roma and insists Inter ‘played better’ than Milan in the derby.
The 2-0 result at San Siro was sealed by an Edin Dzeko opener within 90 seconds, meeting the Ivan Perisic cross from the left, and an Alexis Sanchez stunner from a huge distance into the far top corner.
Both sides also hit the frame of the goal with Nicolò Barella and what would’ve been a Danilo D’Ambrosio own goal, with Rui Patricio and Samir Handanovic making saves.

It was the result they needed after losing the Derby della Madonnina to Milan on Saturday, fumbling a lead to suffer a 2-1 defeat.
“We know that we played better in the derby, but that was a lesson to show we must always be wide awake,” Alexis Sanchez told Sport Mediaset.
“We’re confident as a team. Everyone knows Roma are strong and they showed that on the pitch today.”
Alexis Sanchez started this evening, so was his goal a sign that he wants to push his way into the starting XI against Napoli at the weekend in Serie A?
“I always want to play, I’ve always said the more I play, the better I feel. I want to do what is best for the team, but the fact remains it’s difficult to play only 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there.”

He deserves the starting XI, but Inzaghi should pair him with Lautaro. Koulibaly can do well bashing into Dzeko; but small quick turning players less so.
