Demetrio Albertini believes Napoli are slight favourites this weekend against Serie A leaders Milan. ‘Whoever wins will move towards Scudetto contention.’

It kicks off on Sunday at 19.45 GMT and it is a head-to-head at the top of the Serie A table.

“I’m not sure there are any favourites going into this weekend, but perhaps Napoli have the slight advantage because they are playing at home,” former Milan midfielder Albertini told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’ll be the game of self-belief, because whoever wins will consolidate their progress and move even faster towards Scudetto contention.”

There is a familiar face on the Napoli bench, as Gennaro Gattuso spent most of his playing career and some of his time as a coach at Milan.

“You can’t exactly say Rino was creative as a player, but he was certainly recognisable for his generosity. You can see the same characteristics in his coaching and his Napoli, as they do play good football, but they do it with determination and effort.”

Milan and Napoli famously clashed for the Scudetto when Arrigo Sacchi first took charge at San Siro.

“At the time, Milan had not come from a good season, but won the Scudetto and then the Champions League a year later. It won’t be an easy thing to repeat.”
