Inter reportedly rejected Manchester City’s €50m bid to sign Alessandro Bastoni last summer and are now willing to offer the defender a contract extension.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Manchester City wanted to offer €50m to sign the promising defender in the summer but the Nerazzurri made it clear they didn’t want to sell the player at any price.

Bastoni joined the Nerazzurri from Atalanta for €31m in 2017.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Manchester City wanted to offer €50m to sign the promising defender in the summer but the Nerazzurri made it clear they didn’t want to sell the player at any price.

Bastoni joined the Nerazzurri from Atalanta for €31m in 2017.

The 21-year-old played on loan at Parma in the 2017-18 campaign and returned to Inter on Antonio Conte’s first season at the club.

The product of Atalanta academy has already played 40 games with the Nerazzurri and made his senior Italy debut against Estonia on November 11, 2020.

Bastoni’s contract runs until 2023 and according to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A giants want to offer him a contract extension while Bastoni hopes to continue is developement under Conte and get an Italy-call up for Euro 2021.
