Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi says Roma target Salvatore Sirigu will remain with the club.

The French champions have completed the signing of Kevin Trapp from Eintracht Frankfurt, with both France Football and L’Equipe reporting he has been promised a starting role.

That could see Italian international Sirigu, who has been linked with Roma, consider his future at Parc Des Princes, but PSG’s President assures that’s not the case.

That could see Italian international Sirigu, who has been linked with Roma, consider his future at Parc Des Princes, but PSG’s President assures that’s not the case.

“Salvatore is a very good goalkeeper,” Al Khelaifi said at Trapp’s presentation.

“I haven’t forgotten than in 2011 he was one of the first to believe in our project. He helped us to quickly build a competitive team which has won three league titles in France and several other trophies.

“If we want to fight for a place at the top of European football, we must have more than one good player in every key position.

“As you know, that’s the way it is at several top European clubs. Salvatore is well aware of that.”
