FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio expects Andrea Agnelli to “promote Italian football” as chairman of the European Club Association.

It was confirmed earlier today that the Juventus President has been elected to the role, with Napoli’s Aurelio De Laurentiis appointed as chairman of the marketing and communication working group.

Umberto Gandini, the Roma CEO, will serve two years as chairman of the competitions working group.

“It represents a well-earned personal gratification. I’m sure he’ll do his best to cover such a prestigious job, and, as the head of the ECA will make a valuable contribution to the promotion of Italian football in Europe and around the world.”
