Mateja Kezman, the agent of Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, provided an update on the future of his client amid rumours that Juventus are preparing to make a move.

The 27-year-old Serbian midfielder has continued to shine under Maurizio Sarri this season, further proving himself as one of the best in the world in his role, and with less than two years left on his contract many top teams are following his situation closely. Lazio are hoping to tie down Milinkovic-Savic to a new deal and are keen to open talks with his entourage.

Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, Kezman first commented on the rumours linking Juventus to Milinkovic-Savic.

“I think this isn’t the time to discuss the price and transfer of Sergej. Lazio are at the top, the team needs peace. We all know that immediately after the World Cup some things will be clearer and it will be time to talk about everything.”

He spoke about a possible contract renewal at Lazio for his client.

“Milinkovic-Savic only has 18 months left on his contract and, as I said, after the World Cup it will be time to discuss things first with the president and then with everyone else.

“In all these years Sergej and I have respected Lazio and president Lotito. I have to think first of the player’s interest and then also of the club’s interest.”

The 27-year-old Milinkovic-Savic has scored four goals and provided seven assists in 12 games across all competitions so far this season. Last campaign, he scored 11 and provided 11 assists in 37 league games.
