Martin Montoya’s agent insists the Inter full-back will not be returning to Barcelona in January.

The Spaniard joined the Nerazzurri on loan with an option to buy this summer, but has yet to feature this season, leading to speculation he could return to Camp Nou in January.

“It’s all nonsense,” Juan de Dios Carrasco insisted, speaking to Calciomercato.

“Montoya is adapating to Italian football, it’s different to Spanish football and Barça. He needs time to become an important player.

“He’s calm, and was very happy about the win in the derby [against Milan on Sunday]. The team is top of the League and Martin is just thinking about working hard to fit into the team both tactically and physically.

“He’s very happy in Milan. He’s happy with his surroundings, the club and the Coach [Roberto Mancini].

“They talk a lot, and he tells him to stay calm.”
