Daniele Rugani’s agent assures Juventus “believe in him” and “sooner or later we’ll talk about a new contract”.

The defender was seen as one of Italy’s most promising talents, but he’s failed to secure a regular place in the Bianconeri team.

The 24-year-old made 22 Serie A starts last season, but so far this term he’s made just three league appearances, as well as one cameo as a substitute in the Champions League.

Rugani’s father hinted his son would leave the Old Lady sooner rather than later, but the centre-back’s representative says that isn’t the case.

“The words of Rugani’s father aren’t a polemic directed at anyone or at the club,” Davide Torchia insisted on Radio Sportiva.

“They were meant as motivation for his son to win back his place. There have been many offers over the years, including from Chelsea, but Juventus have never wanted to sell because they believe in him.

“Sooner or later we’ll talk about a new contract, but the club will decide how and when.”
