The former Napoli midfielder followed Sarri to Chelsea in July 2018 but continued to play an important role under new coach Frank Lampard last season.

Jorginho is currently at Coverciano with the Italy squad, preparing for the two matches against Bosnia and Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League.

“Now he’s focused on the national team and the two games,” Joao Santos told A Tu Per Tu on Radio Rai. “He’s happy [Coach Roberto] Mancini called him and wants to contribute.”

The Brazilian born midfielder has been linked with a return to Serie A and Joao Santos reveals he would have been open for a move to Juventus if Sarri was there.

“He has a three-year deal with Chelsea. The market is long, it will last until October 5. If Chelsea were to think that the lad is no longer part of the project, I would find an alternative solution.

“Last year he played 40 games for Chelsea and is an important member of the national team. So far we haven’t received any official offers. He is followed by many clubs and there aren’t many players with his characteristics in that role.

“Juventus had offered a swap deal including Miralem Pjanic, but the English side didn’t take it into consideration.

“But [sporting director Fabio] Paratici never called me. Would he have moved to Juventus with Sarri? I think so."
