The Ghanaian still has to negotiate the end of his contract with Schalke 04, but has been training with the Rossoneri since the summer, and his representative confirms a deal is close.

“I was at Milan’s headquarters to talk about the transfer market,” Federico Pastorello told MilanNews.

“With regards to Prince from the point of view of the Coach [Sinisa Mihajlovic] he has confirmed [that he wants him], that was an important first step.

“Now we’ll see in the coming days if we can free ourselves from Schalke. Once we do that we’ll find an agreement with Milan.

“He really wants to do well and make a contribution, if and when he is registered he’ll be very useful to the Coach and also for Milan’s season.

“He has a great desire for redemption after these difficult months, and he wants to repay the faith Milan have shown in him.

“The most important thing was to have the ok from the Coach, who had to make a decision on Boateng.”

Boateng made 100 appearances for the Rossoneri in his first spell with the club, scoring 17 goals and winning the Scudetto in 2011.
