Ex-Inter, Parma, Fiorentina and Roma striker Adriano admits he’d “really like” to play for Serie B side Catania.

The forward almost quit football entirely several times, as he battled depression and alcohol problems during his troubled career.

He had some short-lived spells in Brazil with Corinthians, Flamengo and Atletico Paranaense, but has been without a club since April.

There are reports he was of interest to Catania and Adriano talked to Calcio 2000 about the rumours.

“Why not? It’s a good team and the only thing I care about is playing football,” said the 32-year-old Imperatore.

“I do not look at the division, but where I can play. I’d really like another chance in Italy, truly.”

Adriano was last in Italy wearing the Roma jersey from July 2010 to March 2011, when he terminated his contract by mutual consent to join Corinthians.
