The reports are spreading fast through several newspapers and Sportitalia that Chelsea manager Sarri has been contacted to replace Max Allegri next season.

Sportmediaset asked De Laurentiis today if he could see the ex-Napoli Coach going to take over their main rivals.

“I would not be surprised,” he answered. “Nothing surprises me after what happened with Higuain… In fact, it might be amusing.”

Sarri came very close to the Scudetto last term, but left Napoli after disagreements with President De Laurentiis and took a new role at Chelsea.

Higuain had the best season of his career at Napoli under Sarri’s orders, but left when Juventus activated the €90m release clause in his contract.

De Laurentiis revealed Allegri’s career path could’ve been very different too.

“We had been in sync with Allegri and we had agreed terms with him, but by the time he managed to break free of Milan, I had already chosen Rafa Benitez for Napoli.”
