Aurelio De Laurentiis has hit out at Bologna attacker Simone Verdi for the ‘disappointing’ way he rejected Napoli last month.
Napoli had agreed a €24m deal to sign Verdi in January, seemingly ending their drawn-out pursuit of a wide attacker, only for the Milan youth product to change his mind at the 11th hour and stick with Bologna.
“I was disappointed by Verdi because he told me ‘yes’ and we’d prepared the contract with his agent and Bologna,” the President told Premium Sport.

“When it was time, however, a phone call came from his agent, who said, on the eve of his departure, that the lad didn’t want to come anymore.”
