Sassuolo’s Francesco Acerbi says ‘our objective is to get into Europe’ and responds to exit rumours: “We’ll see what happens.”

The centre-back has been linked with the likes of Roma and Lazio in recent weeks, but is focused on finishing sixth.

The sixth spot in Serie A would be enough to ensure a Europa League place if Milan are beaten by Juventus in the Coppa Italia final, and the Neroverdi are currently only one point behind the Rossoneri.

“We’re thinking about winning all our games,” Acerbi told Sky Sport Italia.

“Milan’s slip up against Verona gave us a further incentive to try and do well in the next three games.

“We must think only about getting maximum points from now until the end of the season.

“After the defeat to us, Juventus have won every game apart from drawing one. We didn’t think they could win the title, congratulations to them for having managed it with three games to go.

“Berardi future? It depends on him and on the club. He must still improve and develop. For now he’s a Sassuolo player and I hope he can help us to win more matches.

“My future? Our objective now is to get into Europe, I’m doing well at Sassuolo but the transfer market is long and at the end of the season we’ll see what happens.”
