Milan chief Adriano Galliani says Kevin Constant was wrong to walk off the field of play after being racially abused.

The defender kicked the ball into the stands and headed into the changing rooms during the Trofeo TIM match against Sassuolo on Tuesday night.

“Racist chants are outrageous, but, with all the solidarity of this world to the player, there are rules in football,” the Vice-President told Sky Sport Italia.

“If there are chants then you inform the referee, he then tells the fourth official who advises the police authorities.

“Once they are informed then it will be up to them whether to stop the game or not. I’ve said if before and I’ll say it again, you don’t walk off the pitch.”
