Tammy Abraham confirmed that he’ll ‘be ok’ after undergoing a minor eye operation but is still likely to miss Roma’s upcoming Europa League match with RB Salzburg.

The 25-year-old English forward was forced off the pitch after just 15 minutes against Hellas Verona after clashing with Gianluca Mancini, an incident that saw him suffer an injury to his left lower eyelid. He left the Stadio Olimpico and immediately headed for hospital, where he watched the win over Verona and confirmed to the fans that he’ll be alright.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Abraham underwent an operation that saw six stitches put in his lower left eyelid. The surgery was performed by cosmetic surgeon Dr Regina Fortunato and ophthalmologist Dr Emilia Cantera, who also took care of the post-operative eye exam.

The English striker has avoided suffering any injuries to the eye itself, a relief for Roma, and he’ll rest today before undergoing some tests with the club tomorrow. Regardless, he is not expected to be fit for the upcoming Europa League clash with RB Salzburg, scheduled for February 23.
