Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati admits “time is not on our side” and targets the Coppa Italia.
The Rossoneri have fallen to seventh in Serie A, meaning that if they finish in that position and don’t win the cup they will miss out on European football for a third season in a row.
“We had it in our own hands until last week,” Abbiati sighed, speaking to Milan Channel.
“The next two games are vital to reach Europe through the League. I want Milan to go to the Europa League and win the Coppa Italia.

“It [the Coppa] would be important, not just because it’s always good to win a trophy, but also because we could qualify directly for the Europa League.
“Cristian Brocchi? He has an idea of the game based on possession of the ball, and we’ve seen a bit of that up to now.
“Unfortunately time is not on our side. We have to try and give everything on the pitch.”
Gianluigi Donnarumma has been the Diavolo’s first choice goalkeeper this season, but the 17-year-old was at fault for one of Frosinone’s goals on Sunday.
“Yesterday at the start of training he was a bit more serious than usual, but I told him to keep his head up, because mistakes happen to everyone, even great champions can get it wrong.
“I have a good relationship with Gigio and the other young lads. I try to make them understand certain things, it’s important for our group to be united.
“Gigio does well when we’re all happy, he has absurd quality and enormous potential. He has to be protected, if I can give him advice I’ll do so willingly.”
