Goalkeeper Christian Abbiati is “seeing something wonderful developing” at Milan.

The Rossoneri had a poor start to the season, but a fine run of form has propelled them to within six points of the third and final Champions League slot.

“I am seeing something wonderful developing at Milanello, but I say it softly,” Abbiati told Milan Channel.

“I am seeing the right atmosphere. When you change Coach it’s difficult to get good results right away, but we are doing our best.

“There is a good group and we are looking to make fewer mistakes.”

Monday sees Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side travel to high-flying Napoli, and the veteran is expecting a difficult game at San Paolo.

“It won’t be easy against Napoli because they are having a great season. They have the players we have to fear but we know what we can do.

“Taking home some points would help our self-esteem which is quite high and enable us to continue on our path to achieve our goals.”

Finally, the former Italian international praised Silvio Berlusconi, who is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his takeover of Milan.

“I can only speak well of the President,” Abbiati said.

“The President has given me everything, he has been like a second father. If the President said ‘Abbiati' I stood to attention.

“I only have a picture with the President, when he handed me the medal for the number of appearances. I was the first, it seems a small thing, but for me it was the best, I put it on my whatsapp profile right away and I framed it.

“The President is the President.”
