Milan's stand-in captain Ignazio Abate says his side have 'every reason to do well'.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia ahead of his team's clash with Champions Juventus at San Siro on Saturday, the 29-year-old was full of praise for the atmosphere created by Coach Vincenzo Montella.

"We are working on an idea of precise style of play. We were not favoured, but in our team there are important qualities.

"We should not have been dismissed two months ago, just as we should not be considered for the Scudetto now. It needs balance.

"Around Christmas we will see the standings and we'll see if we have consistently improved. It's early, we think one game at a time and to try to achieve the most possible number of points. "

"I have always believed in this group, there are quality players and with very strong moral principles. There is every reason to do well. For now we are second and we will enjoy the moment. "

"We are a good group that has been working together. The Coach is right when he says that we need to think positively and with a carefree attitude.

"It makes for a nice atmosphere. Nobody believed in us, but with humility and work we are going forward one step at a time. We do not want to stop, and there are several young people in the team who give us a bit of madness and lightheartedness which is always good.
