Manchester United know they need to sign a new striker in the summer and have their sights set on Serie A after deciding not to move for Tottenham talisman Harry Kane, reports detail.

The Red Devils are keen to make a statement signing at the end of the season to help Erik ten Hag and his squad get involved into a possible title race in the Premier League.

Kane seems like the obvious choice for Manchester United, but recent reports highlighted that Tottenham have no intention of selling their captain in the summer and have already started to lay the groundwork for a new contract.

As detailed by ESPN, Manchester United are not willing to spend the entire summer negotiating with Tottenham for Kane, so they’ve decided to focus on other options, including two Serie A stars.

The Premier League giants are fans of both Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, and are likely to make an approach in the summer.

Things have been a little difficult for Vlahovic since his arrival in Turin and he could welcome the chance for a fresh start, whilst Osimhen has already started his desire to play in the Premier League one day.
