Jordan Veretout

Olympique Marseille have reportedly agreed a deal with Roma for midfielder Jordan Veretout.

The 29-year-old Frenchman fell out of favour with Jose Mourinho in the second half of last season and started to be phased out of the starting 11 in the Italian capital. With Roma picking up Georginio Wijnaldum from Paris Saint-Germain, it became clear that some space would need to be made.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Olympique Marseille have agreed to pay Roma around €11m for Veretout, with another €4.5m in add-ons attached to the deal – €1m after 15 appearances, €1m after 30 appearances and €2.5m with Champions League qualification.

The French side are now hoping to finalise the deal as soon as possible, keen to integrate him into their squad ahead of the rapidly approaching Ligue 1 season.

In the meantime, Roma are preparing to welcome Wijnaldum, who is set to land in the Italian capital today ahead of his pre-transfer medicals tomorrow.

  1. Mourinho destroyed this very good player –I just don’t understand why he preferred Cristante or Sergio Oliveira. (Though Bryan improved A LOT.)
Jordan is not a “super star”, but he can amas(s) 10 as(s)ists and about 8 goals per season. He’s a hard working warrior and his set pieces were always dangerous.
Milan should have taken him to replace Kessie.

  2. I think Juventus need this guy considering the price, instead of spending so much on other target.why not take this good player at low cost
