Genoa President Enrico Preziosi confirms Ivan Juric will be on the bench against Sampdoria but “all Coaches are tied to results”.

It was rumoured that the Croatian would be sacked, as he hasn’t won a single game since replacing Davide Ballardini.

In mitigation though, his five games have been against Juventus, Udinese, Milan, Inter and Napoli.

“Juric is still coaching as normal,” Preziosi said as he left a meeting of the Lega Calcio.

“Obviously all Coaches are tied to results, and the derby is an important game. If I had to make one criticism, it’s that we could have lost to Inter in a different manner.

“It’s not Juric’s fault though if we lose due to a mistake by the goalkeeper in the last minute, or an own goal.

“It seems to me that the style of play has been good, then he [Juric] knows very well that we and him are tied to the results.

“I only hope he can redeem himself, he has an important test in the shape of the derby and it’s clear that it’s an important game for us.”
