Sandro Tonali plays down comparisons to Andrea Pirlo, though “maybe my hair is similar”, and confirms he supported Milan growing up.
The Brescia youngster has been called-up to the Italy squad for the first time, and he spoke to reporters at Coverciano.
“The first few days have been positive,” Tonali said.
“Everyone has put me at ease and they’re happy about this call. It’s a dream for all kids, and my teammates and the club are happy too.

“Until yesterday I only watched the national team on TV, I can only take an example here.
“Marco Verratti’s words? We’re quite similar in the start to our career, I hope that will be the case later too.
“As for the Pirlo comparisons, he inspired me but I’ve never seen another like him. Maybe my hair is similar. My role model was [Gennaro] Gattuso in terms of grit.
“My objectives? I want to win, in Italy and abroad.
“Who did I support growing up? Milan.
“I’m not listening to transfer rumours though, it’s best not to consider them. Staying with Brescia was the right choice, because at 17 it’s hard to play in Europe.”
