“Barcelona are a different team from the others. Since [Andres] Iniesta has come back, the team has been more in control of the game, with three great players [Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez] who respect the old Barcelona and attack in behind.”

The former Milan Coach also had words of praise for some of the individuals in his squad which have helped the Old Lady to the brink of the treble.

“[Alvaro] Morata will become a great player. There are no adjectives for [Gianluigi] Buffon, and [Carlos] Tevez I think is an extraordinary player, but I’ve been impressed by the character of the whole team, we shouldn’t only speak about these three.

“In the end, the squad has been exceptional and extraordinary, and we saw that against Napoli with the penalty given to [Simone] Pepe who has been through a lot, and really helped us out when he played this year.

“Saturday? It was an extraordinary day, where we were able to celebrate the Scudetto and the Coppa Italia with the fans and our families.

“It was a great day to remember a season where, although it’s not over, the team did extraordinary things.”
