Dave Taylor picks his best XI after the latest round of matches in the Italian top flight.

Samir Ujkani [Novara]

Saved a whitewash with his powder-finger reactions to Del Piero and De Ceglie, also  saved superbly from Giaccherini and Marchisio and, while a touch fortunate at times, he blocked and smothered everything else. Faultless for goals. Exalted.

Juan [Roma]

The Brazilian showing real staying power returned to the side and comprehensively organised the defence, annulling the normally dangerous Cavani. Such was his superiority that he blocked the hosts' most potent power with ease. Empyreal.

Gennaro Sardo [Chievo]

Apart from shoring up the defence, the sub added extra bite to the attack like a hurricane with a red flag warning. Also got into the perfect spot to slot home at the back post. Eminent.

Paolo De Ceglie [Juventus]

There comes a time when the shadow defence has to step up to the plate and certainly the club's former youth star could not be faulted. Set up Pepe's goal and also had several attempts himself. Ethereal.

Ezequiel Matias Schelotto [Atalanta]

Won't have done his chances of a transfer any harm with this top-class performance. Made Pasqual look like an old man, while his natty move to dust down two defenders was amazing before he set up Denis. Excellent.

Antonio Nocerino [Milan]

Always willing to put in runs and, like four strong winds, if an opportunity arose he got into the area. Made some clever passes and scored a neat opener beating Brkic at the near post from 15 yards. Elegant.

Cyril Thereau [Chievo]

The French striker could have scored a hat-trick and excelled at playing deeper as a trequartista. His ability to twist and turn with the ball left the opposition helpless. He also assisted the winner after scoring himself from 10 yards. Exciting.

Daniele Galloppa [Parma]

No fog this week, but still the brightest of lamps and was always looking forward. Led the way back into the game from midfield and scored to equalise with an extra time Exocet. Enchanting.

Simone Pepe [Juventus)

One of his best games this season. Always ready to give and take while being big time everywhere. Help set up Quagliarella's goal and scored himself early on at the back post for a simple slot in from De Ceglie's  pass. Exquisite.

German Denis [Atalanta]

The Tank rolled over and over the Viola defence as if it was the Maginot line. His heavy artillery blitzkrieged Boruc in goal with several howitzer strikes until he toe-poked home the ball from a few yards out. Elevated.

Miroslav Klose [Lazio]

Forever young, the veteran goal machine led the line like the true pro he is. Always in the thick of the action he struck the second goal with such force it bounced off a defender past Handanovic. Enjoyable.
