Dusan Vlahovic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s Serbia are the country with the most Serie A players at the World Cup, followed by Poland and Argentina.
Qatar 2022 starts on Sunday and although Italy have failed to qualify for the competition, Italian football fans will have a chance to see more than 60 Serie A players involved in the World Cup.
No country has more Serie A representatives than Serbia, who have called up 11 players, including Juventus striker Vlahovic and his teammate Filip Kostic, the Milinkovic-Savic brothers, Sergej and Vanja and Fiorentina star Luka Jovic.
Poland have nine but could have been 10 if Spezia goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski hadn’t suffered a severe ankle injury in the last match of the year against Verona.
Argentina, one of the main candidates to win the World Cup, have six Serie A players: Paulo Dybala, Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes, Nico Gonzalez, Joaquin Correa and Lautaro Martinez.
Wales, South Korea, Tunisia and Australia have one Serie A representative each.
