Simon Kjaer said it was a “dream come true” after his Milan debut and has claimed you “breathe the great history” at Milanello.

The Denmark international started the 3-0 win against SPAL in the Coppa Italia at centre-back and contributed to the Diavolo’s third consecutive clean sheet in 2020.

He revealed he is happy to be a Rossonero and said the “atmosphere is always fantastic” at San Siro.

“It has always been a dream to play for Milan,” He said at a press conference. “I am very happy to be here, it’s a great club.

“You breathe the great history at Milanello. It’s a pleasure to be here, I’m really happy”.

Kjaer has claimed he has no problems with Zlatan Ibrahimovic after their previous “battles” as opponents and said “it’s a pleasure” to play for the same side as the Swedish superstar.

“I have faced him many times during my career,” Kjaer added. “We’ve had our battles on the pitch, but there are no problems between us.

“We have the same goal, to give Milan a hand and lift them as high as possible. His career speaks for itself, it’s a pleasure for everyone that he’s here”.

The former Roma and Atalanta player said he has come to Milan to “stay” at San Siro and revealed it was a “special” feeling to get a call from Paolo Maldini.

“I’ve played at San Siro before, there’s always a fantastic atmosphere. It’s always special to play here,” he said. “It’s a dream to be here, so my goal is to stay here.

“It’s always special when an idol of yours, like Maldini, calls you and tells you to come to Milan. It was a pleasure to meet him”.

The 30-year-old said he wants to contribute with his experience and help the “younger” players at the club.

“I’m also here to do that. I must try to help the team and especially the younger ones. I have to make them understand that you have to work hard every day”.
