Juventus target Aleksandr Golovin has agreed a transfer to Monaco, the Ligue 1 club’s Vice-President confirms.

The Bianconeri were looking to sign the CSKA Moscow midfielder before the World Cup, but had two offers rejected.

Chelsea then entered the race and appeared certain to sign the Russian talent, but it now appears he’ll head to the French top flight.

“Monaco and CSKA finally finally agreed on the transfer of Golovin,” Vadim Vasilyev explained to Sport Express.

“Monaco and CSKA finally finally agreed on the transfer of Golovin,” Vadim Vasilyev explained to Sport Express.

“It’s a standard five year contract. Honestly, until the last moment I wasn’t sure we’d be able to complete this transfer.

“In addition to Chelsea, Golovin was also wanted by Juventus. At a meeting with one of the directors of the Turin club in May this year, I heard that Golovin’s move to them was a done deal.

“However, our main competitor was Chelsea.”
