Italy and Juventus legend Dino Zoff believes Giorgio Chiellini is ‘the right choice’ to take on the Azzurri’s captaincy.
Chiellini was confirmed as Italy’s new skipper after Gianluigi Buffon retired from international football, and Zoff – who captained the national team to World Cup glory in 1982 – is in agreement with the decision.
“The armband remains a burden, which carries a lot of responsibility and isn’t taken lightly,” he told La Stampa.
