Piotr Zielinski commented on his recent injury, Napoli’s dominant win over Ajax and the team’s growth under Luciano Spalletti.
The 28-year-old Polish midfielder has been a key player for the Partenopei this season, doing well across the start of the season and being a leader on the pitch for Spalletti. He has appeared in every game so far and shined in the 4-1 win over Liverpool, scoring twice and assisting once.
Speaking in an interview to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Zielinski first provided an update on his physical condition.
“My condition is good, I did all the training today and I didn’t feel any discomfort.”
He looked back at the Partenopei’s thrilling 6-1 away win over Ajax.
“It was a magical evening not only for us but for all Napoli supporters. We went behind, but there was plenty of time to solve the game and so we did. We are happy.”
The Polish midfielder spoke about coach Spalletti and his effect on the squad.
“The coach congratulated us for the beautiful game, but he reminded us that we haven’t done anything yet. Already against Cremonese it’ll be very difficult, it’ll be another match. This team prepares these matches very seriously, we have to stay focused and play our game.
“We must always work, even if we did a masterclass in Amsterdam there are many important matches. In Cremona we have to be fully focused and give everything to win.”
He commented on the impact of the new signings at the club.
“It’s not bad for a new project, the new players immediately made their contribution. The club has done a great job, some very important players have left, some new ones have arrived who are not very well known but have immediately made their great contribution.”
Finally, Zielinski discussed Napoli’s Scudetto dream this season.
“It is the dream of all the people who support Napoli that Spalletti’s ‘S’ is the one of dreams.”
The 28-year-old Zielinski has made 11 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists in that time.
