Italian reports suggest West Ham United are determined to get Piotr Zielinski and have offered Napoli €35m plus bonuses, but the player is demanding a bigger salary too.

The Premier League side already spent €42m including add-ons for Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca and are again looking to Serie A for reinforcements.

According to La Repubblica newspaper, the Hammers have now raised their bid to €35m plus bonuses, getting closer to the €40m asking price.

However, they still have work to do convincing the Poland international too, because the same source maintains Zielinski rejected the €5m per season package.

They are set to increase that to €6m per year in order to get Zielinski to give the all-clear.

The 28-year-old spent practically his entire career in Italy, moving to the Udinese youth team in 2011, going on loan to Empoli and then sold to Napoli for €16m in the summer of 2016.

His contract with the Partenopei runs to June 2024 and there is also an option to extend for another year.
