Zinedine Zidane has surprisingly refused to rule out the idea of Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Real Madrid this summer.

Zidane was confirmed as Madrid’s Coach for the second time on Monday, despite speculation that he could be Juve-bound, and the Frenchman was asked about Ronaldo – with whom he won three consecutive Champions Leagues.

“That isn’t the issue right now,” said the 46-year-old at his official unveiling.

“The issue right now is that there are 11 games and we’re going to think about that.

“You know who Cristiano is, he’s in the history of this club and no-one’s going to change that.

“He’s been the best, one of the best, but he isn’t an issue for us right now. I’m not thinking about signings, only that I’m very happy to be back. I’m just thinking about the 11 games that we have left.

“We’ll have time to look at things with the right people and prepare for next season.”
