Inter President Steven Zhang reassures fans over the future of the club after beating rivals Milan 3-0 in the Supercoppa Italiana. ‘Our project will be focused on winning.’

The Nerazzurri retained the Supercoppa from last season thanks to a comfortable victory in Riyadh, decided by Federico Dimarco, Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez goals.

“Winning the derby and a derby after winning a cup is always emotional, so in the past six, seven years of taking on the project, this is the fourth trophy and has been really rewarding for all of us,” Zhang told Sport Mediaset.

That makes him the fourth most successful President in the history of Inter, in terms of silverware, thanks to the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia and two Supercups.

“It’s an unforgettable journey, I always have to thank everyone who worked with me and continue to do so, managers, directors and coaches.”

There continue to be many reports over the future of Inter and whether Chinese company Suning will remain at the helm amid financial difficulties.

“We always did the right things in the past. As long as I am President, our project will be focused on winning as a team and a club.”

Zhang also assured he sees “a long road ahead” in both the Scudetto race and their Champions League campaign, so “anything can happen.”
