Zenit confirmed Domenico Criscito is in the extended Italy squad for their pre-Euro 2016 get-together.

It was announced today that Antonio Conte wants to see a group of players in a training camp from May 18 to 21.

The preliminary squad itself won’t be named until May 23 and the final group going to the tournament is released on May 31.

Conte won’t actually name the players involved in the training camp until Monday, but Zenit St Petersburg have rather jumped the gun.

A statement on the club website reads: “Domenico Criscito called up to Italy’s extended squad for Euro 2016.

“Zenit Football club have received notice from the Italian Football Federation.”

Criscito, now 29, was furious at not being called up for Italy’s squad at Euro 2012 or the 2014 World Cup.

The defender has not played for Italy since a 1-0 friendly defeat to Spain in March 2014.

He was called up for matches against Albania and most recently Bulgaria in September 2015, but stayed on the bench.
