Zdenek Zeman has welcomed links with Inter, but underlined that he has not been offered the Nerazzurri bench.

Zeman has been paired with a possible switch to San Siro at the end of the season, despite Moratti’s recent claims that Andrea Stramaccioni will be retained for next term.

“I have to be happy to have again been paired with Inter,” the 4-3-3 boss told the Gazzetta dello Sport on Tuesday.

“I don’t believe that any tactician would turn down a move to Inter. The problem, however, is being called in the first place.

“Inter President Massimo Moratti has said I’m young inside? The passion he puts into Inter shows that he’s young inside too,” added the 65-year-old.

“Moratti is an example of a President who lives for his club.”

Inter have had a problematic campaign and are set to miss out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.

“The age of certain players at Inter is not the problem,” the man sacked by Roma in February continued. “Desire, seriousness and application is.”

Reflecting on his disappointing second stint in the capital, Zeman was asked about what went wrong with the Giallorossi this term.

“We lacked the unity of a purpose on and off the pitch,” he explained.

“That compactness which is the daughter of discipline, the rules to follow, the spirit of sacrifice, the desire to always apply yourself and the belief in what you are doing.

“I was working for the future.”
