Zdenek Zeman is on the verge of signing a contract with Roma after he held talks with the Giallorossi on Monday.

“I met director general Franco Baldini,” stated the current Pescara boss. “We spoke about a lot of things, but we’ll need to meet up again.

“When? I don’t know, that is for them to decide but I haven’t given them any ultimatums.”

Roma, according to the Corriere dello Sport, have offered the tactician a two-year contract to succeed Luis Enrique. Zeman, as is his style, has asked for a 12-month deal.

There is also a difference of opinion when it comes to the Coach’s proposed salary.

Roma have offered him €800,000 a season, plus bonuses. Zeman is looking for €1.1m, plus a €1m bonus should the Giallorossi qualify for the Champions League under his guidance.

On his return to Pescara on Monday, Zeman then held talks with club President Daniele Sebastiani and sporting director Daniele Delli Carri to inform them of his desire to quit the club.

Pescara have won promotion to Serie A this season.

Zeman has already had a spell in charge of Roma between 1997 and 1999.
