The Coach openly criticised Maarten Stekelenburg and the club last week when he said in a Press conference that there were “no rules” at Trigoria.
The club hierarchy was visibly irritated and director of sport Walter Sabatini confirmed they were “considering a change” of management.
Today there were crisis talks and Sabatini renewed his faith in Zeman.
“I wanted to send a signal,” explained Zeman on Sky Sport Italia this evening.
“What I did on Saturday was ask for support. I will train at my best.”
Sabatini spoke to Roma Channel and revealed the reason for these talks.
“A doubt had arisen in our minds after his statements on Saturday and we wanted to resolve it. The doubt was whether he wanted to continue with this team.
“I speak clearly, we all deepened the talks and are totally satisfied. We are ready to fight our battles together.”
There are reports that Zeman was expressly urged to reintroduce Stekelenburg and Daniele De Rossi into the starting XI.
