Mauro Zarate played for both Fiorentina and West Ham United, so gives his verdict on the Conference League Final. ‘The Viola have something more in attack.’

They face off in Prague on Wednesday for the second edition of the Conference League, hoping to follow in the footsteps of last season’s winners Roma.

Radio Bruno Toscana contacted Zarate, who at 36 is still playing in Serie B for Cosenza, as he represented both clubs in his career.

“I expect a great final, even if West Ham have not done as well as they should’ve done in the Premier League, considering the squad at their disposal.

“The Hammers fans are fantastic away from home, it almost feels like they are on home turf.”

These are also the two top scoring teams in the Conference League and the attack could be where this fixture is decided.

“The Viola have something more in attack. I really like Luka Jovic and think he’s a great player who just needs to have that moment where he explodes.

“Arthur Cabral and Nico Gonzalez are doing well too and I expect the Argentine to strike the winning blow.”

Zarate also gave his view on the situation in the West Ham forward line, even if Italy international Gianluca Scamacca is ruled out.

“Michail Antonio always seems to play, despite the arrival of new strikers. He is a beast, a very dangerous player.”

Antonio has scored 14 goals in 47 competitive matches for the Hammers this season, followed by Jarrod Bowen with 12 and Said Benrahma on 11.
