“It’s been very difficult. Fortunately it's over and now I have to think about the national team.

“It was a difficult year because the players had problems with Inzaghi and this was reflected on the team.

"I feel great, I did a good job with my body even though I wasn’t playing. I’m in good shape to play for Colombia.

“I have another year on my contract with Milan, we will see what happens. For now I'm focused on Colombia and the Copa America.”

As for the possible return of Carlo Ancelotti to the Rossoneri bench, Zapata refused to be drawn into a discussion on the matter.

“We do not know anything yet. Everyone knows that he’s a great Coach,” he said.
