Nicolò Zaniolo’s father, Igor, has claimed the Roma starlet ‘feels like a lion in a cage’ and is eager to return as soon as possible.

With football at a standstill, it might be a chance for the 20-year-old to return in action if Serie A resumes during this summer and his father claims they have to stop him from working too much on his recovery.
“He feels like a lion in a cage. The other day, they gave the team a day off and Nicolò had two sessions at home,” Igor told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Everyone at Trigoria knows that they have to stop him and I tell him too, because someone with his musculature, so powerful, need take gradual steps.
“Now, he’s working on his upper body. This will allow him to have greater balance when he runs.”
But the surgeon who operated Zaniolo at Villa Stuart, Dr. Mariani, has claimed the youngster ‘respects’ the limits they have set for him.
“He perfectly respects the recovery times that we had foreseen for him in the tables,” Dr. Mariani said. “He is a natural talent, so I’m not surprised that he has already touched the ball.
“When they sit in front of me and listen to the response of the tests, they all have two types of reaction.
“They either cry for themselves or immediately ask you when they can come back to play. Nicolò is part of the second group.”
During the uncertain times in Italian football, rumours that Roma might have to sell the Italy international has emerged.
There are many clubs who are reported with an interest, but Zaniolo seems to only focus on returning to play.
