It got them into trouble during the European Under-21 Championship, as the room-mates were dropped from a big game for repeatedly turning up late to team meetings.

“Nicolò told me that Kean is a really good guy, regardless of a going over the top a few times,” former player Igor Zaniolo told the Corriere dello Sport. “It’s only natural that they are young and want to go a little wild, but they have to hold in that exuberance.

“Nicolò understood he was wrong and learned from his mistakes at the Euros. If Moise were to come to Roma, I hope my son could help him to grow too.

“If Kean gets his head in the right place, he could become one of the best strikers in Europe.”

Everton are reportedly ready to ditch Kean after he broke the coronavirus lockdown rules with a house party.

“That was bad, especially as players are meant to set the example, but if Roma were to make the signing and keep Moise in check, he’d be a top player.

“Nicolò doesn’t want to take steps backward or become the boy he was at that Euros. He has made the step up and I hope he can help Moise do the same.”
