A win against Genoa on Saturday would be the perfect Christmas present for captain Javier Zanetti.

“A victory would help us end this calendar year in a good way,” the Nerazzurri idol and legend commented.

“Following the Coppa Italia win over Verona, which was very important, we want to win on Saturday to enjoy a relaxed Christmas and recharge our batteries for the New Year.”

Inter have had a decent start to the season and although form has been patchy of late, they are still second in Serie A.

“This year, 2012, has been one of growth because it came after a difficult half season,” he continued.

“In the first six months of the new season the team grew a lot. We’re a new squad with a strong desire to become a leading contender again and fight for the top spots.

“We hope we can do it.”
