Veteran Javier Zanetti will discuss the possibility of a new one-year contract with Inter, reports Tuttosport.

The Argentine, now 40, returned to action at the weekend after rupturing his Achilles tendon in the April game at Palermo.

The 1995 signing, the first made by President Massimo Moratti, signed a 12-month renewal at the end of last season.

Zanetti, it is said, is thinking about playing until the summer of 2015 before hanging up his boots for a director’s role at San Siro.

The versatile midfielder is 43 appearances short of the Serie A cap record held by Milan legend Paolo  Maldini, who played in 647 top-flight ties.
