Vice-President Javier Zanetti says ‘Inter’s doors are open’ for Dani Osvaldo, whilst he would welcome a return of Samuel Eto'o to Serie A.

Italian oriundo Osvaldo is expected to leave the Nerazzurri this month after his altercation with Mauro Icardi and Coach Roberto Mancini during and after the recent League test at Juventus.

Genoa have emerged as the latest competitor for his services, according to Gianluca Di Marzio’s site, but one Inter icon says such rumours are premature.

Genoa have emerged as the latest competitor for his services, according to Gianluca Di Marzio’s site, but one Inter icon says such rumours are premature.

“It's a shame that this episode happened, but the important thing is that he understood his error,” said Zanetti to Sky Sport Italia during today’s Ballon d’Or ceremony.

“He apologised to Icardi. What matters is that everyone shares the same objectives and that we stay united to get back to the top.

“The doors are open for Pablo, he is still an Inter player. When problems of this type come up, we must look forward.

“Right now we must only think about building a team that can return to the centre-stage, and with Mancini we can do it.

“There are many teams that are fighting for third place, so it's still early to talk about that. We'll give everything we've got to win this race.”

Zanetti also added some words about former Inter striker Eto'o, who is being linked to Sampdoria for a return to Serie A.

“He did some extraordinary things with us, and now he wants to come back to Italy. His return in Serie A would be most welcome.”
