Javier Zanetti praises Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic, and “couldn’t imagine” being anywhere but Inter.

“For me it means a lot to continue with Inter as a director after playing with this team for almost my entire career,” Zanetti explained to NoviList after a legends match in Rijeka.

“For me it means a lot to continue with Inter as a director after playing with this team for almost my entire career,” Zanetti explained to NoviList after a legends match in Rijeka.
“I got so much satisfaction with Inter that I couldn’t imagine myself with another club. It’s not about money, Inter has always been a big family.
“Now we’re in a difficult period, but cycles are normal in football. I came in when I was young, after four years I was given the captaincy and I led the team for 15 years.
“The treble [in 2010] was the highlight, we beat Bayern Munich in the final in Madrid and they had 68 per cent of the ball.
“The real final was against Barcelona though, where we qualified even with 10-men in a second leg which seemed like it would never end.”
Zanetti was also asked about two of the Beneamata’s Croatian stars, Perisic and Brozovic.
“They’re two great players, we’re happy to have them as part of Inter because they’re both class players.
“Mateo Kovacic? We were on good terms with him. He left Inter for a great club in Real Madrid. He has a great career ahead of him.
“In general Croatian football is proving its worth, a lot of good players have come through since independence.
“We’re happy with our two.”
