It had until now been claimed Moratti would sell his remaining 30 per cent stock and Thohir remained as President.

However, a new theory in the Corriere dello Sport suggests Moratti and current Vice-President Zanetti will be used to run the club on the ground in Milan.

Zanetti would be promoted as the new President just two years after hanging up his boots.

Moratti could have a role as a counsellor on the Board of Directors.
