The Sicilians are propping up the table alongside Pescara and are the favourites for relegation after a chaotic campaign.
“We still have to believe in our chances of safety,” Zamparini told Radio Radio.
“The last few games were disastrous, but unfortunately we didn’t sign any top players despite putting an important budget at the disposal of the club.
“We need to beat Roma and get back on track, even if it’ll be tough when Francesco Totti is playing like this. He is a real leader and when I see him play, I light up.”
Sannino started the season on the bench and was fired in Week 3, then Gian Piero Gasperini was hired, fired and brought back again around a brief Alberto Malesani spell. Sannino was recalled earlier this month.
“Sannino is very motivated and I got it wrong when firing him so soon. Now he has settled in much better.”
