President Maurizio Zamparini assures Palermo fans he does not fear relegation and Coach Bortolo Mutti “will not be sacked.”

There were reports the patron was all set to recall Devis Mangia to the bench after Mutti started his Rosanero career with one point from three games.

“Mutti will not be sacked, so the fans can relax on that score,” Zamparini told Radio One.

“Of course some things aren’t going right, but we have the quality to get out of this negative moment. I do not fear going into Serie B.

“The team is alive and kicking, as they put in a decent performance yesterday against Chievo and were only beaten by a single distraction in defence. Chievo are a good side and even Juventus” data-scaytid=”56″>Juventus could lose at the Bentegodi.

“We still have a lot of work to do, which I have already told Mutti. Let’s just say I am worried but have faith, as things can only get better.”

Palermo have already moved on the transfer market this month by bringing in striker Franco Vazquez and goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

“Angelo Palombo refused to move, while Chievo won’t release Luca Rigoni. Massimo Donati could be an option to reinforce the midfield, but we have a big squad and I won’t just buy for the sake of buying.”
